Comparison of displacement change measured on 66-inch-diameter capsule and predicted displacement based on extrapolation of displacement change data from 15-inch-diameter capsule under short-term loading. 3. The time-dependent strain rate varies with the pressure to which the acrylic plastic hull is subjected during long-term loading. The relationship between the time-dependent strain rate and pressure is probably exponential. 4. Immediately after initiation of long-term pressure loading, the strain and time-dependent strain rate were higher on the interior of the hull in equatorial region than on the exterior of the hull. This was caused by the presence of higher stresses on the interior of the hull at that time. (Figures 109 and 110). 142.
