1929 - Gracing was the original term for Greyhound Racing - This photograph was taken at the former White City Stadium, Shepherd's Bush in London. In 1929 the Irish dog 'Mick the Miller' arrived for his first Derby and soon became a household name. The GRA moved its headquarters to White City from Belle Vue. At the time White City was considered the primary racing venue in Britain. The final Derby took place in late June before the final meeting on 22 September 1984 after which demolition took place. The track became the site of a series of BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) buildings.
