The 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment (The Polar Bears), 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division held a Change of Responsibility & Change of Command ceremony, on May 17, 2022, at the Magrath Sports Complex on Fort Drum, Lt. Col. Christopher Rowe relinquished command of the battalion to Lt. Col. David Simmons. Command Sgt. Maj. Jacob Smith received the responsibility as the Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. from Command Sgt. Maj. Jerry Heim.
