Switzer, heretofore Master Mechanic,Toronto Civic Ry., is appointed Assist-ant to Chief Inspector of Rolling Stock. Appropriations.—Toronto City Coun-cil, some time ago, appropriated $7,000,-000 for the Commission, to cover the firstphase of the general work of rehabilita-tion and extension of the lines takenover from the Toronto Ry. Co. An ap-plication for $4,000,000 more has beenapproved by the Board of Control, buthas not yet been dealt with by the CityCouncil. Cars Received—Up to Oct. 17 theCommission had received 85 motor carsand 15 trailers from Canadian Car &Foundry Co., leaving 15 motor cars and35 trailers to be delivered, which are ex-pected to be received before the end ofNovember.
