A Yamabushi or mountain priest throws water on the flames during the Hiwatari matsuri on Mount Takao, Tokyo, Japan

The Hi-Watari, or fire crossing festival is held every March on Mount Takao in the outskirts of Tokyo. The Mountain priests light a huge fire that, after it has burnt down a bit, they walk across. After that all the supporters and anyone else is welcome to have a go too.
