After grad-uation he commenced the profession (ff teaching at the X^ormalschool at lIoll\- .S])rings, Miss., in 1876 where he continued fortwo and one half \ears. His next work was in the Eeland Uni-versity at Xew Orleans, from 1878 to 1881. Then he went toBishoj) College, Marshall, Texas, for eight years, from 1881to 1889. MISS BERTHA MAY SHAVER Was born at Marshall, Texas., February 25, was the daughter of Prof. Frank Shaver and hisfirst wife, Mrs. Floretta Lewis Shaver, and grand-daughter of David and Julia Tennant Shaver. Shedied a tragical death at the home of her grand-mother in the city of Dunkirk, N. Y., in January,1903.
