On the upper side the wingsare of a black colour, tinged with very dark blue, especially towardsthe outer angle of the hind wings, being there increased by a numberof minute, slender, elongated, blue scales. At the anal angle is anincomplete eye, formed of a black spot, partially surrounded on theinside with a whitish crescent, the upper part of which is tingedwith sanguineous. The fore wings beneath are of a grey colour,darker towards
