A view of the Konserthuset (Consert House) in the central Norrmalm district, Stockholm, Sweden in 1970. The sculpture is The Orpheus Group, by Carl Milles. In the background are the Hötorget buildings, five modernist high-rise office blocks. The nearest block carries a giant advertising logo for Dux TVs and radios. Norrmalm is at centre of Stockholm. This image is from an amateur 35mm colour transparency – a vintage 1970s photograph.

In the 1950s and 1960s, large parts of lower Norrmalm were torn down to build a new and modern city. Among the new features created as a result of the clearances were the large central public plaza at Sergels torg and the Klara Tunnel (Klaratunneln). This image is from an amateur 35mm colour transparency. It will look soft and grainy if used at too large a size – a vintage 1970s photograph.
