Slussen construction site. The Slussen lock is an important transport hub in the centre of the Swedish capital, not far from the Royal Palace and the old town. This is where Lake Mälaren, which is around 200 kilometres long and is important for the drinking water supply, flows into the Baltic Sea. The lake is around 70 centimetres higher than the sea. Ships overcome this difference in height using locks. Completion of the reconstruction is planned for 2027. Major construction site at the Slussen transportation hub in Stockholm.
