Since the tournament was concluded, .someingenious person, fond of playing with figures,has made out a table showing the number ofpoints scored by each man who took part in thecontest. Twenty-four matches were played ir>each of the two 36-hole home-and-home con-tests, and twelve matches in the deciding con-test on the San Rafael links. Of these sixtymatches Claremont won thirty-four. San Fran-cisco won twenty-one and five were Dr. E. E. Baker of Claremont. who played 478 WESTERN FIELD. lukiTsley Ilioto. SPECTATORS AT INTER-CLVB MATCH. on three of the five days, scored the greatestnumber of points for his side, 4. 5, and 2; F. S. Stratton scored IOV2 points, and Carl-ton Curtis and A. H. Higgins 10 points J. R. Clark made most points (8V^) for theSan Francisco team, R. Oilman Brown beingnext with 7%. Every representative of theClaremont club scored something for his team,but 5 of the San Francisco players added noth-ing to the score. The Claremont teams werechosen wholly from fourteen players, while theSan Francisco club was represented, on oneday or another, by seventeen golfers.
