He studied medicine at the Victoria Uni-versity of Montreal, from which he received hisdegree of Doctor of Medicine in 1879, and soonafter graduation came to Rhode Island, engaging inthe practice of his profession in Central Falls, wherehe has since resided. Dr. Mathieu has held theoffice of Coroner for the city of Central Falls since1893, and is Medical Examiner for the EquitableLife Assurance Society of New York, and the New. J. E. V.
