Descendants of Pequot tribal members who were enslaved in Bermuda visit the Mashantucket Pequot Cultural Grounds.


After the Pequot War the remaining Pequot tribal members were given as slaves to colonists and other tribes. Many were sent to Bermuda were they were kept with the African slaves. Over time the two cultures melded however many still cherish their Native American roots by attending annual events such as Schemitzun 2012.
