Lincoln’s majestic Cathedral the third largest in Britain and is one of the finest medieval buildings in Europe. Originally built in 1072, consecrated in 1092, it has been a place of worship ever since. Its three honey coloured towers dominate the city skyline, from which medieval building spill down the steep sides of the limestone ridge towards the River Witham, 200ft below.
