High came asmanaging editor of the Recorder from the editorship of TheMaryland Baptist. Puckett is the only man in Southern Baptistlife to have served four different state Baptist papers. High andPuckett are the only team of editors who have both served aseditors of other state papers before coming to North Carolina. The cost of second-class postage threatened the very survivalof the state Baptist
