Mahatma Gandhi and 80 fellow marchers arrived at Wasna on 14th March 1930 They had started out from the Sabarmati Ashram and were on their way to the seaside village of Dandi Their actions raised awareness about the inequity of the salt tax and was a rallying cry for home rule for India
