He left thatplace in February, 1857, and entered RolfeBrothers sash, blind, and factory, wherehe became foreman of the box 16, 1861, he gave up his position, andenlistetl as a member of the band attached tothe Third New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry,serving therein until he received his dis-charge. He has been officiallyprominent, serving as a member of the Com-mon Council of Concord in 1872 and 1873,member of the Board of Aldermen in 1S77and 1878, and in Governor Charles H.
