The legend of the Wedding Ring of England. Edward was said to have given his ring to a beggar in England as he had no money on him. Later in the Holy Land a man revealing himself to be John the baptist gives the ring to 2 pilgrims 7 asks that they return it to Edward. Edward adopted the ring as a symbol of marriage between a king & his people.
