When At-lantic Highlands, instead of Sandy Hook, became the terminalof the fine steamer line of the N. J. C. R. R. Company, a changecame, and there is now cphte a colony of sunmier ])eople, andit is a ra])idly growing one. The easterly part of Greater Xavesink consists chiefly ofthe Hartshorne estates, still covered in large areas with forestprime\al. The late Benjamin Hartshorne pursued the sameconservative policy as his ancestors in keeping the big estateintact. He was a millionaire and could well afford to carry outthis policy.
