It is a large, dark red or purplish cherry of the heart- type, which originated with Seth Lewelling, of Oregon. The^Carman Peach, which is of the North China type, is of Texas origin. It is of most delicious flavor and of large size, and is said to succeed well in the Northern peach sec- tion. Fig. 2535.
