As the description by Berkeley and Broome is very incomplete we are here giving a detailed diagnosis and figures of this characteristic fungus. Pei'itheciis nunc singulis, nunc in acervulos (sti'omatibus tubercularieis insidentes) pulvi- natos, nonnumquam elongatos confluentesque coacervatis, glo- boso - subconicis, vestimento squamuloso profunde 5â9 lon- gitudinaliter sulcato â ostiolis nudis exceptis â obsessis, in- deque formam Cerei juvenis imitantibus, ^/â i â '^'ls mm. diam., rubro-aurantiacis, in sicco subo- chraceis. Ascis juvenilibus sub- fusoideis, maturis cylindraceo- clavatis, tenuissime tunicatis, membrana sporidiis adjacente, 40âbbfx X 5â7 /i, sessilibus. Sporidiis octonis, superne sub- distichis, inferne monostichis, ellipsoideo-fusoideis, 1 -septatis, ad septum non constrictis, 10 physibus nullis. Ad ramulos siccos corticalos prope LasTrincheras Venezuelae (Leg, H. Lassen). The fungus grew in company with Schizophyllum commune Fr, and was collected near Las Trincheras, 14. 12. 91 (H. L.)..
