It has a fine hall, or opera house, thatwill accommodate 600 people. The Mayors office and the CouncilChamber are in this building. There is also in it a free reading-roomunder the management of the Womans Temperance Union. Thereare three secret societies in the town—Masonic, Odd Fellows andKnights of Pythias. The town has a planing-mill, a flour-mill, a II. pump and a carriagefactory, one lumberand two coal yards,trunk store, and thevarious little shopsthat the needs of anactive and prosper-„ ous community y(0 would naturally demand.
