It has been built with Chil-mark stone, with dressed quoins,and rubble filling in parts, andcement stucco elsewhere. Some ofthe gables and projecting bays arein half-timber construction in oak, and the roof iscovered with stone healing. The large sitting hall,illustrated overleaf, is treated in panelled oak, withceiling joists and beams and the floor of the samematerial. The oak staircase and long corridor havealso wainscot panelling, between five and six feethigh, the space above being decorated in plaster,modelled after the old manner. The entrance hall. THE MOORINGS, , BERKS: GARDEN FRONT. T. K. COLLCUTT, (COLLCUTT AND HAMP), ARCHITECT and principal corridor has a black and white marblefloor. The accommodation on the ground floorwill be seen from the plan given on this page. Onthe first floor five large bedrooms, two nurseries andnurses room, with ample lavatory accommodation,are provided. All the bedrooms, except the best bed-room, are provided with fixed lavatory basins, withhot and cold water laid on. The attic floor contains 215 Recent Desigiis in Domestic Architecture a large playroom, four servants bedrooms, a sewing-room, and other accommodation. The house standson a raised site, with long terrace lawns on thesouth side, and embankment walls built of rubblestone, while several flights of steps descend to thelarger lawns and gardens. A lodge, with ampleaccommodation for motor-cars, chauffeurs, andgardener is provided at the entrance to the drive,and is designed in keeping with the generalcharacter of the
