Memorial marker at the Stonewall Jackson Shrine, Guinea Station, Virginia. Stonewall Jackson had been shot by his own men on 1st May 1863 at the Battle of Chancellorsville (about 16 miles north west of the plantation). Jackson had his left arm amputed at a field hospital before reaching the Guinea Station on 4th May 1863. He died on 10th May 1863 from pneumonia and is buried in Lexington, VA.
