INDIAN OCEAN (Jan. 7, 2021) – Navy Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Trae Copeland, with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23, performs routine maintenance on a spindle assembly aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are conducting operations in the 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
