A paraglider taking off from the peak of Gaisberg mountain in Salzburg. Vents at the front of the wing can be seen

Gaisberg is a mountain to the east of Salzburg, Austria. It belongs to the Osterhorngruppe between the Lammertal valley and the Wolfgangsee. The paragliding club is called Fly4Fun, or Drachenflieger und Paragleiterclub Salzburg. The paraglider wing or canopy is usually what is known in aeronautical engineering as a "ram-air airfoil". Such wings comprise two layers of fabric that are connected to internal supporting material in such a way as to form a row of cells.
