The Laconia Democrat officeoccupied the second floor of the build-ing, and Miss Kate Feeley conducted amillinery store in one side of the groundfloor of the building, leaving about 1,100square feet for OShea Bros. dry goodsbusiness. Both members of the firmhad served a few years as clerks insimilar establishments in Laconia, andconsequently had a fair knowledge of THE ILLUSTRATED the business. Their first years tradewas an immense success, actually turn-ing the entire stock over seven by the favor which theirventure received from the public, theydecided to put in a stock of ready-made. OShea Bros.* Store in 1S75. clothing, and in December of the sameyear they leased the portion of the build-ing formerly occupied by Miss Feeley,and in this addition to their establish-ment put in a stock of clothing, engagingtheir brother, Eugene OShea, to takecharge of this department. This venture, also, proved a success,
