Ruin of Dun Ringill iron age hill fort on a promontory overlooking Loch Slapin, Kilmarie, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK. The remaining structure follows the typical shape of a Scottish broch with thick round walls and stands on a narrow promontory above vertical cliffs making it inaccessible directly from the shoreline. The name Gaelic name of Dun Ringill translates into fort point of the ravine. Dun Ringill featured in the Jethro Tull song of the same name on their 1979 Stormwatch album. The song was composed by Ian Anderson the world-famous lead singer who lived at Kilmarie House until 1994 .
