Like most other birds it adapts itself to the oncoming civilization. Some years ago I found a nest in the Oak Bay district adjoining the city of Victoria; and mixed with the grass and lichens were the torn transfer slips of the electric railway, the words " Oak Bay " being clearly decipherable from the outside of the nest.
