Doum and Mlala Pals dominate the dry scrub lands near Lake Manziin the Selous Game Reserve. Grasslands and terminalia scrub form a mosaic habitat away from the lakes close to the Rufiji River but palms grow where the shallow roots sytems get close to permanent ground water.
