He refer-red to the fact that the government hadappointed 15 district health inspectorsand recommended that an effort be madeto enlist the interest and co-operationof these inspectors for the improvementof sanitary conditions. He also recom-mended that the enactment of provincialhealth and sanitary laws be urged, andclosed with the suggestion that allmembers should adopt as their watch-word: Make the society the strongestin Ontario. ER. IS. Mahoney, Guelph. Apprenticeship Matters. J. Marshall, chairman of the Appren-ticeship Committee, submitted a reportin which he recommended that measuresbe devised to effect the following re-forms; that the masters themselves makea careful selection of boys; that there bea uniform wage throughout the province;that there be some method for indentur-ing apprentices; that there be a uniformtime for declaring apprentices to beimprovers; that an effort be made toweed out all but the best boys. The report was referrtd to the in-coming committee. Financial Report. The financial, report was submitted byWm. Mansell, showing that there was$ cash on hand. Educational Work. C. Hicks submitted his report aschairman of the Educational Committee,giving some valuable establishment of an informationbureau in connection with the society,the holding of business dinners by localassociations and the use of good textbooks
