Farnham Common, UK. 28th November, 2022. Xylaria hypoxylon, Candlesnuff fungus, also known as the Stag's Horn is a very common fungus that looks like a burnt candle wick. The wick like stem can also have an antler style fork at the top. Burnham Beeches is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a National Nature Reserve and a European Special Area of Conservation where many rare and threatened species of fungi can be found.
