Conjuration de Claudius Civilis, 1661 by Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (15 July 1606[1] - 4 October 1669), usually simply known as Rembrandt, was a Dutch Golden Age painter, printmaker and draughtsman. Gaius Julius Civilis was the leader of the Batavian rebellion against the Romans in 69 AD
