The rufous-thighed kite (Harpagus diodon) is a species of bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, and Suriname from volume XIII (Aves) Part 2, of 'General Zoology or Systematic Natural History' by British naturalist George Shaw (1751-1813).
