One of these is a large clay bank at Estacada, from which it has been found that an excellent quality ofpressed building brick can be manufactured at a comparativelylow cost. There is also said to be an extensive and very val-uable coal field in the territory south of Cazadero, and as thesupply of wood for fuel must necessarily be curtailed before. The railway company will profit from the brickplant and the coal fields by handling the freight. It is be-lieved that the lake to be created above the dam at Cazaderocan be made profitable for resort business, and near its upperend there are said to be some splendid hot springs, whose medi-cinal properties could easily be utilized for the establishment ofa health resort.
