A 53-year-old woman has been arrested following the suspicious death of a man at a flat in Ryde this afternoon (Monday).  Police and paramedics were called to a property on East Hill Road, Ryde at just after 4pm on Monday. A cordon was erected and a woman swiftly detained. Ryde,Isle of Wight Tuesday 14th June 2016 A 53-year-old woman has been arrested following the suspicious death of a man at a flat in Ryde this afternoon (Monday).  Police and paramedics were called to a property on East Hill Road, Ryde at just after 4pm on Monday. A cordon was erected and a woman swiftly detained. Hampshire Constabulary have now confirmed that a 53-year-old female has been arrested in connection with the death and that a murder investigation has been launched. ?The detained person, who is yet to be identified, has been taken to Newport Police Station for questioning. Police remain on scene with forensic officers from the Hampshire Major Investigation Team conducting an examination of the flat. A cordon remains in place. There is not thought to be any wider risk to the community. The Hampshire Major Investigation Team have been conducting examinations of the scene tonight as a murder investigation gets fully underway. Tents have been erected at Leavington House on East Hill Road and Police have located a mobile office to the address. The murder investigation continues this morning as detectives and forensic specialists work to piece together the events of yesterday afternoon. Screens have been put in place around the property and officers remain on scene guard. Police are yet to name the victim, who is understand to be a local middle-aged father. A 53-year-old woman remains in custody. Hampshire Constabulary are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Leavington House this afternoon to call 101, quoting Operation Bobble. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.©UKNIP
