A cluster of stone huts inside Tre'r Ceiri , Gwynedd, North Wales, UK

A cluster of stone huts inside Tre'r Ceiri Iron Age hillfort (Town of the Giants): a large round house has been divided into three & D-shaped & rectangular huts built against its walls. The western ramparts are visible in the background. Begun in the late 1st millennium BC, drystone ramparts enclose some 5 acres (2ha) & around 150 huts which were still in use in the C4thAD. The southwest & north west entrances were multiphase, the main (north west) being rebuilt in the C2ndAD during the Roman occupation of Britain.
