Sibiu, Romania - 7 October 2018 Founded in the 12th Century, historic Sibiu in Translyvania is a cultural centre of Romania, and was designated the European Capital of Culture for the year 2007. Its beautiful, medieval Old Town is a particular highlight. Here we see strange eye-shaped windows in a very old house. Evidently, these were designed for air drying preserved meats for winter.
