SIGHT

The eye and the sight. The image visualized (here, a pencil) is refracted by the lens and the cornea on the retina. The retina (zoom) is constituted of three types of neurons placed in layers (photoreceptors, bipolar neurons and ganglion cells). The photoreceptors consist of rods, light sensitive, and the cones, allowing the vision of colors. The macula (or yellow spot) is located at the centre of the retina. It consists of a centralis fovea, the fovea, contening only cones, so that it is the point where the visual acuity is maximal and the one on which occurs the acute vision of the details (place of best resolution). See. the image 1189405 for the drawing of the eye alone and the image 1155405 for the drawing of the retina.
