The decoration is usually confined totlie upper part of the body, and is in horizontal zones. All the examplesof this shape iiave spirals by the handles as seen in the illustrations, andin one case spirals are introduced into the interspaces between the trianglesin the main zone. Nearly all the examples of this shape, which is common, have a crossed circle on the Fig. 131. Lianokladhi III ; a pattern on pithos (cf. Fig. 125),b fragment of bowl, c false spout (scale i : 2). (f) Shallow, open bowls with loop handles on the rim. Fig. 131 ^ Thedecoration, which is simple and linear, is confined to the rim, but onefragment has part of a curvilinear design on the outside. {d) Amphorae, of these only fragments were found. The better madepieces (Fig. 126 a, (5) show no sign of handles, but one coarse piece hasa broken vertical ribbon handle on the shoulder. (<?) Handleless, round-bodied jars with a tall, narrow neck. We foundonly one specimen (Fig. 133) which is noticeable for the great inferiorityof its patterns, its rough shape, and the presence of two small lugs on Liaiiokladlii, Pottery 185 each side. There is a crossed circle on the bottom. Notable is a fragmentof a pithos painted in this style, Fig. 128. This wire seems to be peculiar to Lianokladhi, for outside the Spercheusvalley only four sherds have been found, two at Tsangli, one at Ri
