Lord Nelson Statue at top of Nelson's Column Trafalgar Square, Refurbished in 2006 this photo was taken in 2011.


Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square London built to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The monument was constructed between 1840 and 1843. The statue of Nelson standing on top of the column 169 ft. high overlooking central London is made from Craigleith sandstone whilst the column itself is made from Dartmoor granite. Refurbished in 2006 this photo was taken in 2011.
