Red-footed Tortoise Chelonoides (Geochelone) carbonaria. Adult male, overturned onto back. Head end right. Note dumbell shape of carapace and concave plastron. Facilitates male to mount female for copulation. Native to much of northern South America. Here in Guyana. Found in drier transitional areas between forest and grassland savannah.
