Ginginámar, Fuerteventura, Canary Isles: the island's Majorera goats are bred principally for their thick high-fat milk which produces queso majorero, a cheese popular throughout Spain. At one time processed by the individual farmers, the milk is, these days, transported daily to cheese-making cooperatives or private companies. 2016, won World Cheese Awards certificate as one of best 16 cheeses in the world. 2017, "Maxorata" won Super Gold as best cheese in the Canaries are a group of islands lying 100 kilometres to the west of the north African coast.
