HAND OSTEOARTHRITIS, DRAWING

Arthrosis of the fingers. On the left : healthy articulation. In the middle : moderated arthrosis. The cartilage is used ; the cartilaginous debris provoke an inflammation of the articulation. On the right : erosive arthrosis. The cartilage has entirely disappeared ; there is also a disk pinching with a bony erosion. The articulation is very much inflammed, and swollen. A remodeling of the bone is made : condensation of the bone (osteocondensation) in certain areas and geodes (cavities) in thes adjacent regions. Osteophytes (bone excrescences) appear provoking a Heberden's node (cyst).
