St Bridget, sculpture in Vadstena Abbey, Sweden. Born Birgitta Birgersdottir (1303-1373), Saint Bridget (Birgitta, Brigida or Bridgid of Sweden, or of Vadstena) was the founder of the Bridgettine Order. In this sculpture she is depicted holding the Virgin and Child in her arms.
