Prickles from type Body more elongate and tapering more gradually than is typical of the tide-pool species. Head distinctly pointed; profile rising grad- ually from snout to occiput, a slight depression over the eyes; sides of head sloping outward slightly; the cheeks little swollen. Mouth moderate; maxillary reaching vertical from middle of eye.* Teeth with well-developed lateral lobes; the smaller teeth blunt but the |obes indicated; the larger teeth rather slender and recurved, with ateral lobes well developed; arranged in 17 oblique rows in the half.
