Sir Hans Adolf Krebs (1900-1981), German-British physician, biochemist and Nobel laureate. Krebs was knighted in 1958. Krebs shared the 1953 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Fritz Albert Lipmann. The share of the Nobel was awarded for Krebs's discovery of the citric acid cycle.
