Amd

Retina and age-related macular degeneration or AMD degenerative retinal disease. Representation of the healthy retina and the 2 forms of AMD: dry or atrophic AMD with a drusen (yellow) in which the pigment epithelium is atrophied, and photoreceptors destroyed. Wet or exudative AMD with choroidal neovessels that causes edema and detachment of the pigment epithelium and photoreceptor disruption.
