This American M48 tank of the Turkish army hit a mine on August 2, 1974. A tank behind pushed the vehicle, which was unable to maneuver, off the road to clear the way again. In recent years the tank has become a popular tourist destination in the Keryneia mountain range in northern Cyprus.
