Large expanse 'Chilean rhubarb' (Gunnera tinctoria) on the wild beach sands of Bahia Cocotue, Pacific Coast Chiloe Island, Chile
Gunnera tinctoria or 'Chilean rhubarb' is native to Southern Chile. It can grow 2m tall, having leaves across and erect spikes of cone-shaped inflorescences, with orange fruits, in spring and early summer. This wild expanse stands on the sandy beach at Cocolue Bay, on the Pacific Coast of Chiloe Island, west of Ancud.
