Once night falls the sculptures are lit up by a colourful lighting system. The pictures were taken by American photographer Kerry Lammi who lives in Antalya in Turkey. The annual sand festival runs from early May to December and takes place at the world famous Lara Beach, Antalya. It is organized by Global Design Art Works and considered to be one of the largest Sand Events in the world due to the size of the sculptures and the space it occupies. According to them sculptors come from all over the world and use approximately 10,000 tonnes of sand in an area of 7,000 square metres.
